Milan Kundera: An Explorer of Human Existence

Abstract

In the mechanization of the modern world, philosophy and science of human existence itself is becoming increasingly forgotten, Kundera believes the novel to complete the "presence" to arouse and questioning, so light and spacious novel take on the "forgotten the existence of" role. He defined the essence of the novel as a "poetic meditation on existence," This combination of "literary poetry" and "philosophical" concept represents today the creation of novel values. Kundera's thinking is rooted in the existence of the human spirit in modern society ecological concerns, thinking and construction, his criticism from political criticism to humanity, to show the reader an absurd and misplaced reality and future. However, as existential philosophy, he declared lead to positive action against the face of absurd world of conscious people build a free future. The wisdom of the novel is the real question, to explore the many possibilities of human existence. Fiction writers of today should not be a description of the real world or argument, but should be a novelist of a pluralistic, uncertain world of exploration, questions and criticism. In the modern world of mechanization, both philosophy and science tend to forget the human existence. The creation concept combining "literary poetry" and "philosophical speculation" represents the value orientation of contemporary novels. Kundera's meditation on existence originates from his concern, reflection and construction about the humanistic spirit in modern society. Moving from political critique to criticism of human nature, he shows readers the paradoxical and misplaced reality and future. However, same as existentialism, he advocates facing the absurd world with active resistance and constructing the free future based on consciousness. The wisdom of fiction lies on questioning the reality as well as exploring various possibilities of human existence. Instead of being an explanation or demonstration of the world, modern fiction should be a novelist's exploration, interrogatory and criticism about a pluralistic and uncertain world. Kundera's fiction, which associates poetry, thought and history together, represents the firm pursuit of human existence.
