Abstract

New forms of mass media, especially political media, rule the world setting.Their range is not limited to a small group of intellectuals, nor restricted tothe shallowness of dialogues lacking seriousness. Now and then, futilitymight share the ground with wit or colloquial and unpretentious talk. Thesemeans of communication, a.k.a. the social networks, have even contributedto stimulating democratic protests against arbitrary forms of governments. The purpose of this essay is to show the relevant role of these means, providedthat they are articulated with a consistent material base and the aim to createnew spaces of freedom through a new political subject: the multitude
