At the beginning of 2020, COVID-19 became a global problem. Despite all the efforts to emphasize the relevance of preventive measures, not everyone adhered to them. Thus, learning more about the characteristics determining attitudinal and behavioral responses to the pandemic is crucial to improving future interventions. In this study, we applied machine learning on the multi-national data collected by the International Collaboration on the Social and Moral Psychology of COVID-19 (N = 51,404) to test the predictive efficacy of constructs from (...) social, moral, cognitive, and personality psychology, as well as socio-demographic factors, in the attitudinal and behavioral responses to the pandemic. The results point to several valuable insights. Internalized moral identity provided the most consistent predictive contribution—individuals perceiving moral traits as central to their self-concept reported higher adherence to preventive measures. Similar was found for morality as cooperation, symbolized moral identity, self-control, open-mindedness, collective narcissism, while the inverse relationship was evident for the endorsement of conspiracy theories. However, we also found a non-negligible variability in the explained variance and predictive contributions with respect to macro-level factors such as the pandemic stage or cultural region. Overall, the results underscore the importance of morality-related and contextual factors in understanding adherence to public health recommendations during the pandemic. (shrink)

Immersive 360-degree video has become a new learning resource because of its immersive sensory experience. This study examined the effects of textual and visual cues on learning and attention in immersive 360-degree video by using eye-tracking equipment integrated in a virtual reality head-mounted display. Participants were randomly assigned to one of four conditions: no cues, textual cues in the initial field of view, textual cues outside the initial FOV, and textual cues outside the initial FOV + visual cues. The results (...) showed that the cues helped learners achieve better learning outcomes and spend more time focusing on the areas with cues. In addition, the study found a serious imbalance in the distribution of learners’ attention in each region of the video. The attention directed to textual cues in the initial FOV is much higher than the attention directed to textual cues outside the initial FOV. Adding visual cues can effectively direct attention to textual cues outside the initial FOV and alleviate the imbalance of attention distribution. Consequently, adding cues to immersive 360-degree video can be an appropriate approach to promote learning and guide attention in immersive 360-degree video learning environments. 內容簡介 為了批駁韋伯學說的謬誤，倘若我們以韋伯所謂的「理性化」和「除魅化」來界定「現代化」，則在儒家文化的發展史上，一共經過了三次「現代化」：在「軸樞時期」，孔子及其門人解釋《易經》，完成了儒家文化的第一次「 理性化」；宋明時期，程朱「理學」一派強調「道問學」和陸王「心學」一派強調「尊德性」，是其第二次現代化。 在「天人合一」的文化傳統裡，宋明理學家很難將具有「普遍性」的儒家價值理念建構成形式性的理論，來說清楚「儒家價值是什麼？」因此，儒家文化的第三次現代化，必須充分吸納西方文明菁華的科學哲學，以「多元哲學典 範」來建構「含攝文化的理論」。 本書以西方的科學哲學為基礎，先建構普世性的〈人情與面子〉理論模型，以及〈自我的曼陀羅模型〉，再以之作為參考架構，重新詮釋先秦儒家思想的內容，藉以描繪出先秦儒家思想的「文化型態學」。然後再對儒家思想分析 其「文化衍生學」，而分別討論：程朱的理學、陸王的心學、明清的經學，以及陽明學對於日本的影響。 在二十一世紀中，華人知識分子最重要的任務，是要以「儒、釋、道」三教合一的儒家文化作為主體，吸納西方文明的菁華，「中學為體，西學為用」，建立「儒家人文主義」的學術傳統，開創出嶄新的中華文明。.

本書從西方科學哲學的觀點，回顧1980年代以來臺灣心理學本土化運動過程中，出現的五種文化主體策略，並且從文化、研究者、被研究者、及研究社群等四種不同主體的立場，分別討論這五種文化主體策略的利弊得失。 任何一個學術運動，一旦找到了自己的哲學基礎，便是找到了自己的「道」，這個學術運動便已邁向成熟階段，而逐漸脫離其「運動」的性格，除非有人能找出更強而有力的哲學來取代它。 華人心理學本土化運動邁向成熟之後，下一個目標就是總結其成功經驗，繼續推展社會科學本土化運動。我們以「關係主義」作為預設，可以建構出一系列「科學微世界」，和「個人主義」的理論競爭，最終目標則是以儒家文化 作為基底，吸納西方近代文明的菁華，「中學為體，西學為用」，建立「儒家人文主義」的自主學術傳統。.

Par l'angle de lecture choisi, la question du souci de soi, Kuan-Min Huang invite dans son livre à une nouvelle découverte de la pensée chinoise classique une découverte qui, par contraste, doit simultanément permettre à la philosophie occidentale de nous apparaître sous un nouveau jour. Si ce thème du souci de soi est fondamental en particulier chez les Stoïciens, il est, à la suite de Pierre Hadot, réactualisé par le dernier Michel Foucault. Le renouveau de ce thème au XXe siècle (...) s'inscrit dans celui de la philosophie morale ; la notion classique de sujet se voit ainsi pensée à de nouveaux frais en termes de sujet appelé à prendre soin de soi. Autrement dit, le souci de soi implique une culture du soi. La pensée chinoise considérée ici est avant tout celle du confucianisme et celle du taoïsme, mais afin d'en saisir la singularité, cet ouvrage donne aussi des aperçus des Ecoles légaliste et moïste. This paper examines the effect of the image of destinations on the wage income of resident households, and the corresponding income inequality, from a novel perspective. This work uses China’s excellent tourism city image program, which is an urban planning policy implemented by the central government across cities to enhance the image of the city destination in the minds of tourists, and then promote tourist motivation and local tourism development to assess the effect on household wage income and its distribution. Results show that the program significantly increases household wage income by increasing employment opportunities, promoting business and population agglomeration, and improving urban infrastructure. Additionally, the image of the city destination promotion causes an increase in income inequality among households. (shrink)
