A Study On Spiritual Health And Its Related Factors Of The Senior High School Teachers In Kaohsiung Area

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the area high school teachers in Kaohsiung City and County of spiritual health conditions and related factors, the use of questionnaires, the researcher's self "high school teachers Spiritual Health Inventory" as a research tool, randomly selected high school teachers in Kaohsiung a sample of 609 questionnaires were issued, the effective volume 568, 93.57% rate available. Data to SPSS for 10.0 software package for descriptive statistics, t test, one-factor univariate analysis of variance, single factor multivariate analysis of variance and Scheffe's post hoc comparison method and other statistical methods. Findings are as follows: First, the Kaohsiung area high school teachers should be good spiritual health situation. Second, high school teachers of different backgrounds, some differences in their spiritual health. Perylene older, have religious beliefs and life education for research in several more high school teachers, with some aspects of the overall spiritual health were significantly better. Perylene different gender, years of teaching the more experienced, marital status and number of children of high school teachers in the overall spiritual health was not significantly different, but in some level of significant difference. Perylene teach different subjects, teaching positions, school property and family health status of high school teachers, and points in the overall level of spiritual health were not significantly different. According to this study found that, respectively, for teachers, schools and educational administrative units, as well as follow-up study of the proposal. This study aims to explore the current status of spiritual health and its related factors of the senior high school teachers in Kaohsiung. "The Scale of Spiritual Health of Senior High School Teachers" is used to collect the survey data. Subjects are randomly sampled; 568 of the 609 subjects are valid. The collected data are processed by Descriptive Statistics, t-test, One-way ANOVA, One-way MANOVA, and Scheffé posteriori comparison test with the statistic software SPSS for 10.0. The findings are summarized as follows: The status of high school teachers 'spiritual health is supposed to be fairly fine. There are differences among some variables of teachers' spiritual health. 1. Those who are elder, and have religious beliefs, and have experiences of taking life-education courses show better spiritual health. 2. There are no significant differences in total spiritual health status among gender, marital status, numbers of kids and teaching years; yet, differences among some sub-scale scores in spiritual health are found. 3. There are no significant differences in total and sub-scale spiritual health scores among different positions held in school, teaching courses, types of schools and health situations of family members. According to the above findings, suggestions for teachers, educational and school's administrations, and future studies are proposed
