Abstract
This chapter reflects on the non-discontinuity between structure and the sensitive world in Lévi-Strauss’s work. In order to do so, it is necessary to submerge into what structures—mental and material—are, and how they relate. From them on, it is possible to understand the ways of overcoming the ontological dualism between the axes, nature and culture, in this structuralism. From the conclusion of this analysis of Lévi-Strauss’s work, we intend to open a way of dialogue with the monist philosophies, especially those of Indian source. Although in Lévi-Strauss’s work there is no ultimate reductionism to a single source of pattern emanation, but a number of fixed patterns on which nature and culture are based, there is a project of continuity between the spheres, and not a complete disruption of bases.
