Drawing: Embodied and Situated Knowing

Abstract

"An anthology is always the result of many individual efforts and so it is with this volume. This book is however also the result of a collective effort, both in terms of the publication itself and the research on which it is based. A prerequisite for any kind of research is a community of peers who meet in an open forum where ideas are tested, knowledge shared and diversity celebrated. Study Circle 7, from which this research emerges, provided such a forum. Conducted under the auspices of the Nordic Summer University, this circle offered the space for encounters and a generous exchange of ideas across a number of disciplines within the artistic field. It provided a nourishing environment for the changing shapes and formats in which artistic research emerges, as witnessed here in these texts."
