On Ransoming the Property of Jing-Han Railroad and Its Influence

Abstract

Beijing-Hankou railway because the borrower under the control of Belgium and the Belgian. The Chinese government redeemed Beijing-Hankou Railway, China in the early 20th century manifestation of rational nationalism, to recover the way mine is the largest economic rights movement results. Important member of the Northern Group, Chen Bi, Liang Shiyi and other road in the foreclosure process in active efforts should be given full recognition. Qing government in the difficult economic situation, mainly through the way of redemption of borrowing is understandable Beijing-Hankou railway. Beijing-Hankou railway redemption not only has great economic interest, political influence is more important is that China got rid of foreign control, operate independently manage their own railway. That Chinese Government ransomed the property of Jing-Han Railroad from Belgium was the biggest achievement during the movement of ransoming railroads and mines and an exemplification of China rational nationalism in the early 20th century. That Chen Bi and Liang Shiyi as the important members of the Beiyang Group had made great efforts should be fully affirmed, moreover, the way for Qing government to ransom the property by borrowing money was understandable. It influenced China not only with great economic benefits but also with important political influence that China eventually got rid of the foreigners' control the railroads
