In the course of the twentieth century natural sciences became an integral part not only of the industrial production but also of the semiotics of audio-visual and literary cultures. In the absence of legitimating traditions the techno-scientific models and relations appear to be a readily available habitual source of creative dynamics. Yet this domination contains a paradox. The application of analogy in, for example, visual culture does not work the same way as in mathematics. In the latter when a relation (...) between two points is known it is always possible to assign to a third point its counterpart exactly. In the former it is only the potentiality of the fourth point that analogy can offer. To make the analogy work an onto-poetic step is needed. Repeated applications of such steps detach the model from the original source. The model re-emerges as pata-physics, in its new re-coded art form and territory of application. Models of, for example, atoms, rainbows, meteors, automatons, radiation, entropy, quantum effects, astro-catastrophic singularity, fractals, etc. find their way into literature and arts. This results in new divisions of space and time that in turn determine the shape of archetypal icons through which contemporary meanings are communicated and actualized. (shrink)

샥티파타(śaktipāta)는 ‘샥티(śakti)의 하강(pāta, decent; to fall)’의 뜻이다. 샥티란 쉬바교의 절대 원리이자 종교적으로는 신(īśvara), 철학적으로는 의식(cit)으로 이해되는 쉬바(śiva)의 작용적 측면인데, 샥티가 하강한다는 것은 쉬바의 상태가 현전하는 것을 말한다. 즉 신이 개아에 현전하여 개아는 신의 상태가 된다. 본고는 아비나바굽타의 저작인 『탄트라정수』 제 11장을 통해 샥티파타에 대한 내용을 고찰한다. 10세기 인도 카쉬미르의 불이론 쉬바파의 대학자 아비나바굽타는 자신의 대작인 『탄트라광명』의 요약서 『탄트라정수』(TS)를 쓰면서 제 11장에 샥티파타의 내용을 다룬다. 그는 먼저 쉬바파 이원론의 샥티파타론을 제시하고 이를 논파한다. 그는 샥티파타는 바른 지식으로 생긴다는 주장을 소개하고, 바른 지식의 (...) 원인이 된다고 주장되는 신의 의지와 업이 바른 지식의 원인이 되지못함을 논증하여 이들의 샥티파타론을 논파한다. 다음으로 그는 쉬바파 이원론의 대표적인 샥티파타론인 업동일론과 염오이숙론을 제시하고 역시 이들의 주장을 논파한다. 이런 논의 후에 그는 불이론 쉬바파의 샥티파타론을 간결히 설명하면서 샥티파타가 발생하는 사람들의 근기에 따라 샥티파타를 9단계로 나누어 설명한다. 이를 통해 불이론 쉬바파의 샥티파타에 해당하는 것은 1-3단계에 속하는 상위에 위치시키고 쉬바파 이원론이나 여타 교설에서 주장되는 샥티파타는 그 하위에 위치시켰다. 이런 체계를 통해 그는 불이론 쉬바파의 교설을 정점으로 쉬바파 이원론을 그 하위에 위치시킴으로써 쉬바파 전체의 교설적 통합을 시도하였음을 알 수 있다. This essay discusses engagement against state secrecy and engagement for secrecy, free from interference. By exploring divisions introduced by state secrecy (through exclusion, subjection and oppression), it identifies the distortions of equal participation in political communities. The author introduces the notion of pata-politics in order to describe the false relation to the secrecy effect. Furthermore, the text examines key issues of today’s intelligence studies (such as democratic intelligence oversight and the balance of powers doctrine), with special emphasis on the (...) possible limits of a liberal approach. Pan es un dios peculiar en muchos aspectos. Al contrario que los restantes dioses del panteón griego, él no es antropomorfo, sino que tiene patas, cola y cuernos de carnero. Un dios con características tan arcaicas sólo puede sobrevivir confinado a la Arcadia, una región que conserva numerosos arcaísmos religiosos. Sin embargo, a partir del 490 a.C. en que se instaura su culto en Atenas, el dios comienza a cambiar. En su evolución, Pan se asimila cada vez más a Dioniso. (...) El acercamiento entre ambas figuras deja su huella en el mito, pero sobre todo en el culto. Así, un dios que en Arcadia era venerado en santuarios construidos por la mano del hombre, en el resto de Grecia recibe culto en parajes agrestes, fundamentalmente cuevas. No parece casual el hecho de que también fuera de Arcadia la gruta sea el lugar reservado a los cultos mistéricos, incluidos los dionisíacos Pan is a god peculiar in many respects. In contrast to the other gods of the Greek pantheon, he is not anthropomorphic, but he has the legs, tail and horns of a goat. These features show his age. A god like Pan can only survive in Arcadia, a region that preserves many religious archaisms. However, from 490 BC, when his cult is established in Athens, this god begins to change. In his evolution, Pan becomes increasingly assimilated the god Dionysus. The rapprochement between the two gods left his mark on the mythology, but especially in the cult of Pan. Thus, a god who was worshiped in Arcadia in sanctuaries built by men, in the rest of Greece is worshiped in wild shrines, mainly caves. A esos gatos los veo a diario delante de mi ventana mirándose entre ellos mientras mastico mi comida en la mesa de la cocina. Lo hago lentamente y mirándolos de reojo, sospechando de sus movimientos cortos, de sus colas levantadas. Seguro planean asaltarme o esperan a que me levante de la mesa para venirse hasta la vidriera y tratar de abrir (...) la ventana con sus patas. Sueñan con invadir mi cocina y hartarse hasta reventar. Studie se pokouší objasnit výchovu z hlediska možností, jež pro rozvoj člověka získal revoluční boj dělnické třídy a jeho výsledek - socialistická společnost. Výchovu pojímá jako proces analyzovatelný pouze ze stanoviskamarxistické filosofie. První kapitola chápe historii člověka jako základ pro zkoumání výchovného procesu, druhá se zabývá člověkem jako rezultátem vlastní životní aktivity. Třetí, jádro práce, vymezuje výchovný proces. Čtvrtásleduje jeho průběh a pátá hodnotí moc výchovy.

This paper attempts to clarify the processes undergone by the yoga practitioner in the later stages of purification according to the classical Yoga of Pata jali. Through a process termed the sattvification of consciousness, the mental processes of the yogin are remolded, reshaped and restructured leading to a transformation of the mind and its functioning. The mind thus can be seen not only as a vehicle of spiritual ignorance, but of liberating knowledge culminating in authentic identity. Yoga philosophy, far (...) from negating or suppressing human nature, has profound implications for psychological improvement and an embodied understanding of freedom and human integrity. (shrink)

Abuso sexual en la infancia es el libro escrito por María Beatriz Müller con el objetivo de dar una explicación del éxito judicial que ha tenido a lo largo de los años el Síndrome de Alienación Parental (SAP), propuesto por el médico Richard Gardner en la década de los 80. A lo largo de la lectura del presente libro se verá cómo la postulación de este supuesto síndrome (SAP) en ámbitos médicos, psicológicos y judiciales, así como otras propuestas carentes de (...) evidencia científica, han generado un contexto claramente perverso en la prevención del abuso sexual, donde “todo se vuelve patas para arriba, no se cree en la palabra de y en los síntomas de los niños y las niñas, las madres protectoras son consideradas instigadoras y promotoras de mentiras, el abuso sexual queda invisibilizado, las víctimas se convierten en victimarios y el depredador en el “pobre padre que no puede ver a sus hijos”” (p. 10). Con este aterrador panorama de la situación actual de muchos países en relación con la prevención del abuso sexual de niños, niñas y adolescentes, la licenciada Müller realiza una exposición muy bien documentada y de fluida lectura sobre los distintos mitos, construcciones e injusticias alrededor de este tema.
